History and origins of Baccarat

The game travelled to France in the early 14th century by soldiers who returned there after the war. How to play Baccarat

Regardless of which the baccarat version you may play, these basic rules remain constant. You can choose to bet on the player’s hand, the bankers (not the casino) or the actual result. The three outcomes that can be achieved are either the player’s hand or the banker wins or both hands result in a tie. The odds of a tie bet is 8 to 1 whilst for the Banker and player the odds are 1 to 1. The same rules apply in live baccarat.

Baccarat is played with a standard deck of 52 cards and each card is assigned a value. Card 2 to 9 are worth their face value 10, Jack, Queen and King are worth 0 points while Aces are worth 1 point. A hand with a 6 and 8 would be worth 14 and the highest value of a hand in baccarat is 9.
