Australia’s favourite cooking show, MasterChef, is back. The seventh season of MasterChef premiered on May 5th 2015 and promises to be the most challenging season yet. MasterChef Australia has been entertaining audiences for over five years now and thus the anticipation around season seven is very high. The next winner will has a tough time set out for him or her, but the rewards will be great: up for grabs this season is $250 000, an Alfa Romeo Guilietta, and a chance to work in some the best restaurants in Australia.

The Judges

Returning to host the show are Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan, and George Calombaris. Joining them as a mentor to contestants is celebrity chef Shannon Bennet. Raised in Westmeadows, Melbourne, Bennett is one of Australia’s highly praised chefs. Bennet will mentor and train the MasterChef cooks with intriguing master classes and insightful judgments. Speaking of judgement, Gary, Matt, and George continue to provide expertise and empathy to contestants while applying high industry standards when assessing the work of the amateur cooks.

What can you look forward to?

If season 7 is anything like previous seasons, then expect much anticipation, joy, tension, and victory. The stress of pressure tests, the gloom of elimination rounds, the hope of immunity, and the drill of a team challenge; these make MasterChef one of Australia’s best television shows.
