Man wins big betting on Luis Suarez getting hungry during encounter with Italy
The World Cup offers the betting man a smorgasbord of betting options to choose from. Not only do the bookies offer the run of the mill; what country will lift the Word Cup and who will be the top scorer, they also offer the more bazaar; fastest red card and the most yellow cards against one team. Then, however, the betting options enter in to the completely ridiculous with betting options that most would have a giggle at but never actually bet on.
Marcos Matinez is not most people though. The resident of Copenhagen Denmark placed a 40 Danish Kronor bet (the equivalent of $7.30) that Luis Suarez of Uruguay would bite an Italian player during the teams face off during the World Cup group stages.
His friends must have thought he was nuts and well… he probably was. The bet did, however, payout with Martinez earning a mind blowing $1,280 from a the 175-to-1 bet… I really thought those odds would be higher, but when you take Suarez’s history in to account I guess it’s not that crazy.
