Latest Snapchat Hacks and Features

This one-to-one messaging app that allows you share images or video clips to your friends instantly. Unlike Instagram, Snapchat offers users various editing options but those who have used it feel that it’s not as user-friendly. Perhaps it's because they are not aware of the new features that was incorporated in this app and if you are one of those people, you'll find this article useful. If you are a Snapchat user, did you know that you can use it to make a live video call, or add emoji’s to your videos or save data by turning the app on to ‘travel mode’? This and other exciting features where added to this app in March 2016. You can use Snapchat to make voice and video calls

This can be done by recording and sending a video or voice or having a video or voice chat with your friend. If you cannot locate the phone icon, it means that you don’t have the latest Snapchat version. For this feature to work, both you and the person you’re trying to contact should have the most recent version of the app. The only downside with this feature is that there is no verification or test run. Once you hit the button, it starts recording right away.

Two filters can be turned on at once

If you torn between choosing a filter and a mph then you’ll be happy to know that you can do both at the same time! All that is required is to hold the screen with one finger as you swipe left or right to find another filter. Then release to apply the filter you want. Versatile emoji and sticker options

Dress up your Snapchats by using the over 200 emoji’s and stickers that are now available and you can rotate and resize them as you wish. After you’ve taken your picture, tap on the folded paper icon and scroll through the stickers available and when you find what you’re looking for, tap it to add it to your photo.

Attach emoji’s to your videos

You can make your videos more fun by pinning an emoji or sticker to your videos. This emoji moves, rotates and scales automatically with the object on the video. You need to record the video first then scroll to find the emoji you’d like to place, tap on it to add it to your video and use your finger to move it to the object you would like to place it and pin it. Fast-forward, rewind or make your videos go on slow motion

This feature works like the filter and you have to swipe sideways to find them. These features are symbolized by the following icons: snail for slow motion, rabbit for fast-forward and backward-facing arrows for rewind.

Draw in black or white

Text colour, size and orientation change

After selecting the colour of the text you can use your two fingers to rotate or resize it by pinching or zooming the screen. It doesn’t stop there. You can move the text around to wherever you want it on the screen.

Fit all your text in one line

After choosing the text colour and orientation, you can make it fit neatly in one line no matter the amount of text you have.

Got a lot to say? You can exceed the text limit

On those days you have a lot to share but you feel limited by the 33 character limit Snapchat has. Now there’s a way around this. To add more text, type the message on your Notes app, and copy and paste it on the Snapchat’s text field or copy the blank text from your Note app and copy over to Snapchat and write your text therein. Want to save data? Turn on ‘Travel Mode’

Like most apps that we use today, they use up the data battery really fast. When you set your phone on 'Travel Mode', it will conserve your data and avoid automatic downloads that chews up your data. You can access this feature by tapping the ghost icon and then the gear icon on the right-hand corner of the screen. You’ll find the ‘Travel Mode’ option in ‘Manage’ section within the ‘Additional Services’.


Another cool feature that Snapchat has is the geofilter. This feature allows you to superimpose location-based art into your pictures.
