When and Where Is EGX 2019?
EGX 2019 will be held October 17-20 at ExCel London in the Docklands. The address is ExCel London, One Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock, London E16 1XL. Although EGX has been hosted in cities like Leeds, Birmingham, and Berlin, Germany, this year the EGX organisation decided to bring the event back to its original home in London. The facilitators hope to build on the gaming experience and quality of exhibits that fans have grown to expect since 2008.

History of EGX
Before you rush off to enjoy EGX 2019, learn some history to better appreciate this magnanimous gift to the gaming world. Previously known as the Eurogamer Expo, this trade fair is held annually in either the United Kingdom or Germany. The first Eurogamer Expo occurred at the Old Truman Brewery, located in the Spitalfields area in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This inaugural expo was part of the London Games Festival 2008. 4,000 people attended. Brought back by popular demand, the expo resurfaced in 2009 at The Royal Armouries in Leeds and the Old Billingsgate Market in London. For the next five years, the EGX would be held at London’s Earls Court. Once Earls Court closed, the EGX moved to Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. By 2012, Eurogamer and Rock, Paper, Shotgun included Rezzed in their expo. Rezzed is a PC and indie games event in conjunction with Eurogamer Expo. The first Rezzed was held at Brighton Centre on 6-7 July of 2012. After changing its name to EGX in 2014, the event would be held in Birmingham until it went to Berlin in 2018. Now in 2019 it has come back home to London.
