5 things you didn’t know about Thor
Image Source: Wallpaper Zone You may think that you know all there is about Thor, the blue-eyed wonder from Asgard. However, there are a few facts that even the most ardent fan won’t be aware of. Here are our 5 favourite ones.
1. He used to be a frog
Image Source: Nerdist Thor once spent a short tenure as a hammer-wielding frog, compliments of Loki. As a heroic amphibian, Thor became embroiled in a war between the frogs and rats of Central Park. He later found his hammer and was able to return to Asgard. However, he left a shard of his hammer behind for his frog friend Puddle gulp, who became Throg, a small, green version of him.
2. He once helped Hitler
Image Source: Marvel Database - Wikia Actually, he was tricked into helping Hitler assassinate Stalin, who then turned out to be Union Jack. Interestingly though, Thor’s hammer started transmitting Hitler’s plans for world domination and, because he felt guilty, brought Union Jack back to life.
3. He was replaced by his girlfriend
Image Source: Nerdist Thor has been resurrected before, but in Thor #1 he came back as, well, a women. This was, of course, part of Marvel’s attempts to diverse their superheroes, and was even able to keep female Thor’s identity secret for almost a year before revealing that it was Jane Forster, Thor’s human girlfriend.
4. More than 10 characters have lifted Thor’s hammer
Image Source: Screenrant The rules are simple: whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor. Surprisingly, that includes Jane Foster, Hulk, Conan the Barbarian, Awesome Android, Captain America and Beta Ray Bill and many more
5. He has a Last Name
